Estate Agents’ Trust Account Audits
The Estate Agency Affairs Act, No. 112 of 1976 (the Act), section 32(4) requires auditors of estate agents to submit their auditor’s report on the estate agent’s trust account(s), business accounts and annual financial statements within the prescribed time-frame of four months after the financial year end of the estate agent and transmit the auditor’s report to the Estate Agents Affairs Board (EAAB) in the form determined by the EAAB from time to time.
It is irrelevant whether the estate agency business is conducted as a sole proprietor, or through a legal person, such as a close corporation or a private company, as the audit requirement is placed on the estate agent business.
Krona is an approved auditor in terms of the EAAB requirements to perform such audits. We have excellent knowledge and proficient understanding of The Estate Agency Affairs Act to execute your audit per the EAAB prerequisites.
We will also submit the appropriate audit reports within the prescribed time frame on the MyEAAB Auditors Portal, accessible on the EAAB website as required.
